Palamel Grama Panchayat: An Overview Bordering Pathanamthitta and Kollam districts, Palamel is a scenic landscape adorned with hills, hillocks, wetlands, and paddy fields. Located in the southeastern part of Alappuzha district, this region is an integral part of Onattukara, a land rich in cultural heritage. Place-name historians suggest that the name "Palamel" evolved from the phrase "Palakkum Meku" (meaning 'West of Palai').
